Daughter of: Edward H. Harvey, mechanical engineer and former managing director of Albe (England) Ltd. (precision tool manufacturing company) the UK branch of the Swiss company Albe SA in Agno, later taken over by Mikron and the UK branch of Moutier-based Tornos Bechler (manufacturer of automatic lathes). He also worked with AGIE in Losone.

In his spare time, inventor of Polydron (available from Vivishop in Switzerland).

Live in: Verscio, a small village in the picturesque Centovalli (=one hundred valleys) region of Ticino, Switzerland's Italian-speaking canton. Moving to the nearby village of Maggia in the green Vallemaggia (Maggia Valley, 20 minutes' drive from Locarno) at the end of 2006.

Things I like: Thunderstorms, the smell of jasmine flowers in the warm summer air, dark green velvet moss, the smell of freshly mown grass, Angelo's cooking, fishing with my father in Ireland, travelling and discovering other cultures and cuisines, the crystal clear water of the Maggia Valley... and playing scrabble online with other people.
Favourite food: Thai green curry, Peruvian ceviche, Indian curry (recipe from old friend Raj Pangrekar), smoked salmon, cockles, mussels and shrimps freshly caught by my dad in Connemara, Ireland.
