CHECK S51AY PSK TEST ON THIS SITE POINT 73!

 

Well, On PSK i can work (if i need) also in Split mode. RX is on CW (so i can use CW filter), TX is on SSB (2nd VFO,shifted for 450Hz – That´s my pitch setting). Normaly, the IF Shift must be moved to right frequency, so you get PSK track exactly in the middle of receiving track, which is very narrow. I do all this with only one macro button, called »Magic« via CAT commands. With another macro »Magic OFF«, i can turn back to normal SSB (no Split) mode. Another thing is Contour in +dB mode, when i listen with CW filter. Thats great ! Your IMD was in normal mode -18dB, with this trick (also with contour), was -28 to -36dB !!!

I am using MixW, so i can tell you contents of my macro buttons in MixW.

 

Pitch must be on 450Hz !

(ALIGN 970 is funcion of MixW, which align PSK (or other) signal to 970 Hz on Waterfall, so receive and transmitting is always on the same tone – no problem with EQ settings)

 

Then, if signal is weak i can turn on contour (+15 to +18dB), shifted to signals maximum.
